Your Florida MMJ Card and Physician Certification Are NOT the Same Thing

Your Florida MMJ Card and Physician Certification Are NOT the Same Thing

This is one of the most common questions we receive from patients.

Your Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry ID Card and your physician certification/orders are two separate parts of Florida’s medical marijuana program.

And they may expire at different times.

Your Florida MMJ ID Card

Your Medical Marijuana Use Registry Identification Card is issued through the State of Florida.

Florida requires patients to maintain an active MMUR identification card to purchase and possess medical marijuana.

The state card is generally renewed annually.

Your Physician Certification

Your physician certification and orders are handled by a qualified medical marijuana physician.

These determine your eligibility and the orders available to you in the Medical Marijuana Use Registry.

Why Patients Get Confused

You may look at your state card and see that it doesn’t expire for several more months while your physician certification or orders need attention sooner.

That’s why it’s important not to rely solely on the expiration date printed on your state card.

For Free Canna Cards Patients
